Happy Friday (the 13th!)
by Laicie
I’m embarrassed to admit it, but I’m totally superstitious. I’ve always cringed a little when someone opens an umbrella indoors or walks under a ladder. I can’t help it… it’s a gut reaction, and I’m not even sure where it comes from. I don’t think my parents have the same paranoia… just crazy ol’ me.
Anyone else do the same?
And (just curious) how’s your day going? To be honest… mine has been pretty great. So far…
Here are a few things I’m loving this week…
Okay, I know I’m kind of obsessing over these shots but, come on, sooo pretty.
This awesome little table.
This beautiful wedding toast (that even made me tear up a little… and I don’t know them) and amazing advice.
With this blackberry gin fizz OMG.
This chick — who is hilarious.
thank you for sharing our wedding toast advice! and sorry for making you tear up 😉 happy friday!

I didn’t even realize it’s Friday the 13th! Agghh! I’m in love with naan…and when I realized it’s Rachel’s recipe, I fell in love even more! Hope your Friday ends well.
My stomach is rumbling–yes to the garlic naan and the blackberry fizz!
In general, my superstitions seem a little theatrical (not so surprising, since I spent my life in dance studios and opera theaters)–no black on a bride, “good luck!” is bad luck, and I still sleep with a citrine under my pillow when I know I have a big day ahead!
I’m not actually superstitious but I sort of do everything a superstitious person might jokingly, or perhaps just in case. You can never be sure, right? To celebrate the thirteenth I tried to convince my husband that it would be romantic if he picked out a dress for me (preferably from Anthropologie) and brought it home and told me to get ready for a night out. (Any excuse for a new dress.) So we practiced by walking around Anthropologie and playing the guess which item of clothing I would like best in this room game. Tons of fun for me actually.
